Exchange MAPI to POP3

I want to share one of the .Net application that will provide convert the Ms Exchange MAPI to POP3 for those Outlook Express/Thunderbird to download email from the Ms Exchange. As I know, Ms Exchange did provide the POP3, but mostly due to security issue, the POP3 & IMAP will not enable.

The POP2OWA application, it is a small application that will provide you the POP3 protocols for downloading email from Ms Exchange.

What you need to do is:

  1. Install the POP2OWA application into your computer.
  2. Start the application & set the webmail url inside the setting.
  3. Apply it & setting up your email account inside Express/Thunderbird with the POP3 mail server ip to “localhost/127.0.0.1”.
  4. Then you should able to download your Ms Exchange email using the POP3 interface even your Mail server does not provide a POP3.

For my testing, I just start the pop2owa application & using email client like thunder bird to connect to the pop3.

Or you may also using a php telnet command (I write for some testing purpose) to test out your pop3 connection.
